Land's End in Nainital

Land's End Nainital is approx. 2118 m above sea level and is conveniently located at just 4 km from the centre of the town, providing an exquisite view of the plains and the verdant Khurpa Tal with lovely pine forests all around.

You do not have to climb or hike much and in consonance with its name, one feels on reaching Land’s End, that the dead end or end of the land has really been reached. For those of you who cannot walk much, you can freely drive till Bara Patthar and then just take a pony to and fro about a km to this place. For those who would like to trek, you can trek to the Tiffin Top from the Land’s End as an additional adventure since the two places run almost parallel to each other.

History of Land’s End Nainital

Land's End is exactly the spot where Nainital town comes to a dead end or from which there is no way to enter or exit. It became popular and famous only after people started coming here to determine the reason and quench their curiosity as to why it was called Land's End. After visiting this place the reason became quite obvious and very soon tourists started coming in flocks as it also offers a picturesque sight of the verdant lush green valley marked with small villages around the neighboring hilly region. Moreover, you also get a panoramic view of the vivacious 'Khurpa Lake' or ‘Khurpa Tal’, which holds stagnant but crystal clear water. You also get to see the plantation and fields being ploughed over terraced hills which lend the buoyant place a rustic charm and a pure feel of the countryside.
